As you know, eco-efficiency refers us to the idea of sustainability applied to the respect of the environment in the broadest sense. We can say that ecoefficiency is understood as the relationship between the value of the product or service and the total of the environmental impacts produced throughout its life cycle.
According to the Royal Academy of Engineering, eco-efficiency is roughly "the environmental strategy of reducing the impact of a product or service by increasing the efficiency of resource utilization".
But taking a look at history we find that concretely, the origin of the term goes back to the year 1992, when the World Business Council for Sustainable Development -WBCSD-, defined it as "providing goods and services at a competitive price, satisfying the needs and the quality of life, while progressively reducing the environmental impact and the intensity of the use of resources throughout the life cycle, to a level compatible with the estimated capacity that the planet can support. "
Eco-efficiency would thus focus on respecting the environment and natural resources through the development of sustainable, efficient and risk-managed procedures.
In a factory like ours, we try to minimize the ecological impact - carbon footprint, emissions, etc. - that our production supposes without neglecting economic growth, performance and the evolution of sustainable industrial processes through, among other things, the use of eco-efficient machinery that reduces the use of resources within an objective of maximum possible efficiency.
Among the machinery of our factory, we highlight the laser we use to perform various effects on the fabric. This machine works through an innovative CO2 system that does not use water and, therefore, avoids the expense of this resource.
Although the machinery used in our factory already has intelligent systems and devices to enhance their productivity while reducing the use of resources, at Captain Denim we continue to investigate and analyze the different processes, materials and devices in order to minimize the impact we exert on the environment.
And you, how are you trying to take care of the planet?
